Eligibility Criteria for Investment Visa
- No criminal records or security problems.
- Strong educational background. Normally, at least an undergraduate degree in the relevant field is preferred. Documentary evidence of good technical qualifications, relevant professional abilities, and achievements. Experience may suffice in the absence of such a degree.
- Demonstrate that your business will create jobs for the local workforce and that you will use the services of local service providers, suppliers, manufacturers, and so on. In addition to that, you will be able to make a significant contribution to the specific market that you are entering.
- Prior to applying for the entrepreneur visa, you must incorporate your Hong Kong company.

Investment Visa Requirements
When applying for an investment visa, there is no minimum investment amount required by the authorities. However, authorities will conduct a meticulous review of your proposed business plan to ascertain if your investment is suitable for your intended business launch. This evaluation is crucial for assessing the adequacy of your proposed investment. In this regard, you must make sure that your desired investment would cover your company’s startup and ongoing operating costs for at least the first 6 months.
Required Documents
Documents required from the applicant:
- Completed Application Forms
- Personal particulars page of your passport. If you are currently staying in Hong Kong, a copy of your passport page containing the latest arrival stamp/extension of stay label in Hong Kong.
- A copy of your Hong Kong identity card (if any).
- Proof of academic qualifications and relevant work experience.
- A thorough and detailed two-year business plan which should provide information about your company’s proposed business activities, amount of investment, creation of local job posts, and setting up of an office/showroom/warehouse (if applicable).
- Copy of Business Registration Certificate in Hong Kong and/or business registration particulars of the company you are going to invest in or have already invested in.
- A copy of proof of your overseas residence.
- Further documents as requested in due time.
Note: All documents submitted must be in English or Chinese or translated into English or Chinese by a certified translation body. The Immigration authorities reserve the right to demand further documents from the parties involved when necessary.
